Every Wednesday (except for public holidays and fiesta days) the locals hold a street market in the centre of Andratx town.
They sell a wide selection of fruit, vegetables and crafts here - all locally produced. If you want to get the best bargains, you'll need to haggle.
The market place is also where the annual Agricultural and Animal Fair is held. In Spanish it's called the "Fira Agricola y Ramadera" and takes place every year on the first Sunday of May.
Other popular events in this area include; the fiesta of San Pedro, and the colourful fiesta of Our Lady of Carmen. They take place every year in June/July within normally two weeks of each other.
